Ayan Mondal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore, India. Prior to this, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Engineer at Univ Rennes, INRIA, CNRS, IRISA, France, under the supervision of Professor Guillaume Pierre. He received his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India, under the guidance of Professor Sudip Misra in 2020. His Ph.D. thesis is entitled “Traffic Engineering in Software-Defined Data Center Networks for IoT”. During his Ph.D., he received Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Research Fellowship (India) to support his research. He also received his Master of Science (by Research) (M.S.) degree from the School of Information Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India, under the guidance of Professor Sudip Misra in 2015. His M.S. thesis is entitled “Distributed Energy Management in Smart Grid”. He received his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from St. Thomas’ College of Engineering and Technology, the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (Formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology), India in 2012. He is an IEEE Member and ACM Professional Member.
His current research interests include algorithm design for Data Center Networks, Software-Defined Networks, Sensor-Cloud, Edge/Fog Networks, Smart Grid, and Wireless Ad-Hoc and Sensor Networks. He is a former member of Myriads research team at INRIA, Rennes, France, and Smart Wireless Applications & Networking (SWAN) Research Group, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
